This basement apartment was a clean slate where Emma could have a little fun. The result is a bright and energetic space.

This is certainly not your typical dark & dingy basement apartment. We removed some walls & installed large windows, this makes the space feel roomy and fresh. The apple green backsplash tile sets the tone and is paired with a fun, teal laminate countertop. This inexpensive countertop option means you can go with something fun and not feel the financial pinch if you decide to change it out in a few years. The walls were all painted a neutral soft grey to keep the look clean. We built a custom island, clad with reclaimed barnboard which adds interest and texture. Creative tilework in the shower surround makes the space interesting without breaking the bank. Save money by choosing a less expensive tile for most of the square footage, then accent with a fancier tile.
