White kitchens can have a tendency to come off as boring as they don’t have one big flashy design element to grab your attention.  The trick is making the details & workmanship speak for themselves. Cream cabinets, soft grey walls & crisp white trim compliment the dark wood floors. Black hardware & lighting accents ground the space. Storage in the kitchen was maximized by building floor to ceiling cabinets, capped by crown moulding.  The huge island provides prep space as well as roomy seating and more storage. This kitchen had a good amount of space but was cut in half by a traffic flow pattern throughway from the front door to the back den & yard access.  In order to tuck the dining room table out of the walking space, we built a large custom banquette along the wall which seats 5 comfortably (8 if you want to get cozy!).  Other custom pieces such as entry way closets & small key table make use of as much space as possible.  Important in older homes which were often not built with front hall closets.
