Project Description

Darlene & Tobin – kitchen

High style for a busy family.

There were many spaces to do in Darlene and Tobin’s home. The kitchen was relocated from a back addition forward in the house to create an open kitchen/dining room. The old kitchen was converted into a cosy playroom with a powder room and lots of built in storage for their growing family. Upstairs, a summer sunroom was insulated and transformed into a luxurious master bathroom with soaker tub and custom shower. His and her walk in closets provided much needed storage in the master bedroom. The kitchen cabinets are painted in Stone Blue by Farrow & Ball and paired with slick white quartz counters. The waterfall side to the peninsula keeps the look clean and gives a modern edge to the traditional cabinet style. Antiqued brass hardware compliments the blue. The gutsy move to choose a bold backsplash tile really paid off in this kitchen. The open wood shelving adds a touch of warmth and ties in the hardwood flooring. A custom built-in sideboard makes full use of an awkward space under a high window. The alcove was wallpapered with a fun pigeon themed paper from Aimee Wilder Wallpapers.
